Filler correction

Lumpy, Migrated, Uneven or Oversized Mons or Labia Filler: How Is It Corrected?

One advantage of HA filler is that it can be corrected. Dr. Kate uses ultrasound to locate the filler, dissolves only the problem areas with the enzyme hyaluronidase, and then re-injects for a natural-looking result.

Common problems and how they are corrected

Lumps or an uneven surface

Massage and moulding first. If that does not resolve it, targeted ultrasound-guided dissolving followed by re-injection.

Migrated into the labia minora, groin or thigh

The migrated filler is dissolved, then re-injected in the correct layer and position.

The two sides are uneven

Dissolving on the fuller side or adding to the smaller side so both sides blend together.

Too large and visibly prominent through clothing

Partial dissolving to reach the proportions you want — an advantage of HA that permanent substances do not have.

Faded sooner than expected

This may be due to the type of HA, the injection layer or the volume. The doctor plans a new type and volume suited to this area.

Inflammation or lumps appearing later

This may be due to infection or allergy. It is treated with medication, with filler dissolved as needed.

Symptoms that need urgent medical attention

Unusually severe pain, or skin that turns pale, cold or dusky purple, may be signs of a blocked blood vessel, which requires urgent filler dissolving. Contact the clinic or go to a hospital immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

I had filler done at another clinic. Can you correct it?

Yes. The doctor will first check with ultrasound whether it is HA. If it is a different substance, the approach to repair will be different.

Does filler dissolving hurt?

Local anaesthetic is used. Most men feel only slight tightness, and there may be brief swelling afterwards.

When can filler be re-injected after dissolving?

Generally after a few days to 2 weeks, once the tissue has settled. The doctor will assess you before re-injecting.
